WaveSelect 1014 Guidewire
Radically Responsive
Experience a new level of control and shape retention in tortuous neurovascular procedures with the groundbreaking WaveSelect Wire. When treating conditions previously considered challenging for access, or difficult for wire durability, this guidewire is engineered to enhance procedural efficiency with radical responsiveness.
WaveSelect 1014 Specifications
Unique Polymer-Metal Matrix Technology
At the core of the WaveSelect Wire's potential is its unique polymer-metal matrix. This innovative construction eliminates the gap between the coil and the core wire with a flexible polymer fill, integrating the components for new combinations of performance in a smaller profile. The result is significantly improved shape retention and torque transmission when compared to the disconnect of traditional wire-coil structures.
Exceptional Tip Shape Retention
Maintain the crucial pre-shaped tip for complex cases, relying on DIFFERENTIATED-WIRE DURABILITY throughout the procedure.
Minimal Deformation: The integrated structure dramatically reduces the relaxation or deformation often seen with traditional wires after multiple passes through tortuous anatomy. The fixation of the core wire in the center of the coils significantly improves shaping precision and retention.
Proven Durability: Testing shows the tip shape is well maintained after being pushed through a simulated blood vessel multiple times, ensuring reliability.
“Prior to WaveSelect I likely would have used multiple competitive wires for this tortuous vessels case, but I only had to use a single WaveSelect due to its impressive shape retention.”
Dr. Timo Krings, Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, MA
Enhanced Torque Transmission
Experience precision control enabled by efficient torque transmission from the proximal end to the distal tip.
The polymer fill enables efficient transmission of torque from the proximal core wire through the matrix to the tip.
Optimized Tip Design: Features a unique cylindrical, tapered tip that further enhances torque transmission and prevents restricted, two-dimensional movement.
RESULT: A level of torque transmission exceeding even conventional 0.014" guidewires when in higher tortousity vasculature.
RESULT: A level of torque transmission exceeding even conventional 0.014" guidewires when in higher tortousity vasculature.
The flexibility you expect, the support you need
Tip Flexibility
A balance of navigation and essential support designed for safe and efficient microcatheter delivery.
Unprecedented Flexibility: The straight version has 46% less tip stiffness than conventional wires (e.g., Synchro 14) for safer navigation.
Supportive Mid-shaft: A supportive mid-shaft profile at the level of conventional wires (e.g., Synchro 14) maintains the rail required to deliver 013-tip microcatheters to their target treatment.
Supportive Mid-shaft Profile
Optimal Balance: The wire provides a critical balance between its unprecedented flexible tip (46% less stiff than conventional wires) and a supportive mid-shaft (demonstrated in the distal 15cm) for safe navigation and efficient device delivery.
WaveSelect’s state of the art polymer-metal matrix is designed to revolutionize 10-wire responsiveness and steer you there, time and time again.

Case examples
Case 1 - Right Anterior Cerebral Artery Aneurysm Coil Embolization (China)
Patient 1, 83 years old, female, came to the hospital with headache, MRI found an unruptured aneurysm at the far end of the right anterior cerebral artery, the maximum diameter of the aneurysm is 4.9 mm, height 4.5 mm, neck width 2.3 mm, located at the bifurcation of the callosomarginal artery of the right ACA. Aspirin (100mg/day) and clopidogrel (75mg/day) were taken 1 week before treatment.
Right anterior cerebral artery aneurysm coil embolization was performed.
Initially, Traxcess (.14 200cm Terumo) and Excelsior SL-10 (Stryker) were used, but due to a sharp bifurcation from the right internal carotid artery to the right anterior cerebral artery, the microcatheter could not reach the target position; switching to Tenrou 1014 (.10-14 200cm) and Marathon (Medtronic) allowed successful access to the aneurysm. (Tenrou is sold and marketed as WaveSelect in the USA)
Case 2 - Left Middle Cerebral Artery Aneurysm Coil Embolization (China)
Patient 2, 79 years old, female, found an asymptomatic, unruptured aneurysm at the M1/2 bifurcation of the left middle cerebral artery. The aneurysm was 3.87 mm high and 3.5 mm wide, with a neck width of 3 mm. Aspirin (100mg/day) and clopidogrel (75mg/day) were taken 1 week before treatment.
Case 3 - MCA Headway Duo 167 exploration (Valley Baptist Medical Center, TX)
